Customers change. Employees change. Competitors change. Constant focus is required whilst re-building one’s business in order to adjust to the changing demands of stakeholders and the market.
At the Spring 2014 Summit, we invited speakers with stories of how they have continuously re-configured their business to reach new heights. We asked them what does it take and how is it possible to identify which organisational bricks need to be resized, removed or replaced in such a process?
We focused on two different perspectives, re-building and building organizations. Dominic Barton, the CEO of McKinsey & Company, discussed the continual business development of McKinsey and how it has enabled them to remain the leading management consulting firm in the world. Hans Vestberg, CEO of Ericsson, spoke of how Ericsson has maintained market share within the increasingly competitive telecommunications industry.
Christian von Koenigsegg – the Swede who succeeded in building the perfect sports car – shared how he discovered his entrepreneurial spirit and subsequently re-shaped the supercar industry. Sir Richard Branson – the world-famous entrepreneur and founder of Virgin Group – discussed the secrets behind his enormous business empire.
To give us the academic and future perspective we welcomed Professor Costas Markides and Futurist Mike Walsh, who both have conducted extensive research on these respective topics.
